So much has happened in the last week that I don’t know how I’ll catch up with my updates, but I have learned so much and have so much to share.
First, let me assure you that I am doing okay. There have been some bumps in the road over the last 7 days, but today is a wonderful day and I’m finally feeling myself. I will post some additional posts and videos this weekend, but all in all the surgery went very well and I’m on the road to recovery.
The most exciting thing to have happened is that a woman found my videos on YouTube and contacted me, she is getting ready to have the same surgeries I have just had and has questions for me. I am so excited to have been so fortunate in just a few weeks to have caught the attention of someone that may be able to have a better experience by having a ‘friend’ that has been through it before. I can’t wait to talk to her this weekend and share our stories.
Last Thursday’s dinner with friends was amazing, it did my heart wonders to see my old friends, and when our plans kind of fell apart and I ended up in the hospital 2 days longer than expected these old friends were right there to help us pick up the pieces and take care of our son and give tons of love and support.
I finally made it home on Monday night and slept most of Tuesday. When I woke on Wednesday I took my morning shuffle around the house and felt an awful pain in my calf. It was early, 6am, so I fell back asleep. I had an awful dream that I was dying and woke to an even sharper pain in my leg. I called my doctor and he suggested I go to the local ER right away. I have a blood clot in my right leg and spent another night and day in the hospital. To make a long story short, I am home now and will be getting my drains out today.
Again, sooo much has happened, I will give more in depth stories later, but I have to get ready to travel back to Denver for my appointment today. But thank you for your caring and concern and love and prayers, and for each of you being with me on this journey.
I didn’t know you were having problems! I just thought I hadn’t heard anything because you were chilling out and taking it easy after your surgery. A blood clot! What are they going to do about that? Glad to hear you are better though.
